Kameron K. Searle is a graduate of Tarleton State University where he majored in political science and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1983. He graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1987. Searle has been practicing law in Houston, Texas since being licensed in 1987. He loves Texas history and is the President of the Texas Heritage Society headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas.
Kameron Searle is a 7th generation Texan. His ancestor, William W. Shepperd, founded the town of Montgomery, Texas in the Lake Creek Settlement inJuly of 1837 in association with J. W. Moody, the First Auditor of the Republic of Texas.
W. W. Shepperd’s daughter, Julia Shepperd, was Charles B. Stewart’s first wife. On March 8, 1836, Charles B. Stewart left the Convention at Washington on-the-Brazos where he had signed the Texas Declaration of Independence just a few days beforeAs the Convention continued, Stewart rode to the Lake Creek Settlement and married Julia Shepperd on March 11, 1836. W. W. Shepperd performed the ceremony. After
a brief honeymoon, Charles B. Stewart rode back to the Convention at Washington-on-the Brazos. He arrived back at the Convention on March 16, 1836 and signed the Constitution of the Republic of Texas on March 17, 1836.
Searle’s ancestor, Jacob H. Shepperd, was the son of W. W. Shepperd and Mary Steptoe Shepperd. During the Texas Revolution, Jacob H. Shepperd fought as a Lieutenant in Battle of Concepcion, the Grass Fight and the Siege of Bexar in 1835. Jacob H. Shepperd served as a messenger for Sam Houston in 1836, and he also delivered the dispatch from Sam Houston that saved the life of Santa Anna when the army was about to court martial and execute him for his war crimes at The Alamo and Goliad.
Searle is a member of the San Jacinto Chapter #1 of the Sons of the Republic of Texas. His qualifying ancestor for membership in the SRT was an eccentric frontiersman named Martin Parmer who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence at Washington-on-the-Brazos and was Chairman of the Committee that drafted the Constitution of the Republic of Texas in March of 1836. Martin Parmer was known in Missouri and Texas as “The Ring Tailed Panther.”
Searle was the historian for the history about Charles B. Stewart located on bust stand in The Lone Star Monument and Historical Flag Park. The bust of Charles B. Stewart was the work of sculptor Craig Campobella. Searle is also a member of the Lone Star Volunteers and will be one of the cannoneers who will be firing the famed “Rolling Thunder” cannon during the dedication ceremony for The Lone Star Monument and Historical Flag Park on April 21, 2011.
Kameron and his wife Marisa Adlong Searle have four children and live in Katy, Texas. Searle is currently writing a book about the early history of the town of Montgomery and Montgomery County, Texas. Texas.
