Thomas Bruce Green, III was born July 17, 1939 in Mabank, Texas. He attended North Texas University in Denton, Texas, graduating in 1961. Tom served with the U. S. Navy as a U.S. Navy Deep Sea Diving specialist during the Cuban missile crisis and the Vietnam war.Tom went into the private sector after retiring from the Navy in insurance and retailing businesses. During this time he became interested in his heritage and became active in the Son of the Republic of Texas and the Sons of the American Revolution. He has served as the president of the Texas SAR society and president and founder of an SRT chapter as well as an SRT district representative. At present he is Chairman of the SRT Speakers Bureau and Educational Committee.
Tom is also a Knight of the Order of San Jacinto presented to him at the annual convention of the SRT in 2006, the highest award of the SRT, which was started in 1843 by President Sam Houston during the days of the Republic of Texas.
