Diane Henry, a 31-year resident of Conroe, Texas, considers it an honor to serve as a Friends of the Flag Foundation board member in the seat previously held by her late husband, Bruce Henry. As an original board member and an essential person in the effort to turn the flag park from a dream into a reality, Bruce instilled a passion for the project in all those close to him. Diane is proud to follow in Bruce’s footsteps and contribute to the future of this project.
Diane is a native Texan, born and raised in Houston. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Sam Houston State University. As soon as possible after college graduation, she married Bruce, a Conroe-proud resident since 1957. Bruce and Diane were blessed with two delightful daughters, Laura and Claire.
Diane is a 20-year employee of Conroe Regional Medical Center hospital and is a past recipient of HCA’s First Humanitarian Award. She has held multiple positions including Medical Technologist, Patient Liaison, Physician Services Director, Managed Care Liaison, Physician Recruiter, Business Development Director, and is currently the Director of Education and Organizational Development. In her role, Diane is responsible for influencing patient care outcomes through the design, facilitation, and evaluation of new and continuing education programs, in-service education, and orientation for clinical and non-clinical personnel in the hospital. Additionally, she is responsible for leadership development training programs including sourcing, content, design and development, logistics, preparation and planning, and facilitation of training. Diane is a Master Trainer through Development Dimensions International®, and is a “Crucial Conversations” trainer through VitalSmarts®.
While full time employment outside the home has provided many opportunities for personal and professional growth, the most rewarding activities for Diane were those associated with being a full time Mom. Involvement in activities with her daughters included elementary school Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) President, fundraising activities, two high school Work Camp® mission trips as an adult sponsor with St. James Episcopal Church, Salvation Army volunteer for Thanksgiving food drives, walks with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and, of course, working the concession stand at the girl’s sporting events. Diane has also served as a classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement®.
When Diane is not chopping, seasoning, or stirring something in the kitchen, she is watching the food channels and reading cookbooks. She enjoys watching baseball and football, and loves spending time with her family.
