At Conroe (Texas) High School: Honorable mention all state quarterback, 1957, leading scorer in the district; vice president of Sophomore class, president of Jr. & Sr. Classes; voted best personality, best athlete, best “all round” of Conroe High, and class favorite of Sophomore, Jr. & Sr. classes.
Also, while in high school, led a country-rock band, with a live radio show on KMCO. In college, vice president, freshman class, et al.
